Inspired by Italian design and craftsmanship, the Anima features a stainless steel front that will fit right at home in both traditional and modern kitchens.

Classic Pannarello

The same approach as the traditional barista with the stainless steel classic pannarello that delivers steam to froth milk or hot water for teas.

Optiaroma

The Optiaroma feature allows you to personalise the intensity and flavour of your espresso by giving you the choice over the quantity of ground coffee per cup among the five beverage selections.

Memo Function

The memo function customises and memorises the length of the available beverages when you keep the button selected for a few seconds.

100% Ceramic Adjustable Grinders

The 100% ceramic grinders extract the purest essence from your coffee beans by preventing overheating and burning. The material also encourages long-lasting performance and brilliant in-cup results.

Aroma Lid

The coffee bean container preserves the coffee aroma particularly well, thanks to its special lid.

Pre-Brewing

Enjoy a unique body and taste for every espresso with the clever pre-brewing function, which places a few seconds of pause between the first shower of hot water and the actual brewing.

Excellent bean to cup machine

Very quick delivery. Ordered on Saturday and delivered Tuesday morning.... impressive!
Well packaged in the box and very straight forward to commission. We've had a bean to cup machine for 16 years. I really didn't want the milk carafe so having looked around the Gaggia Anima seemed to fit our needs very nicely.
It is very simple to set up for bean quantity, water hardness, water temp, coffee length etc.
It looks like this model may have had some beneficial face-lifting since launch. Nice to find there is now a internal clear cover for the bean hopper and the grinder adjuster is now a thumb wheel. Both good improvements in my eyes.
Ran about 6 coffees through before any tasting. I wanted to make the grind a bit finer [which you must only do when the machine is actually grinding] and adjust the shot size.
Makes coffees just how we like them. We are both very impressed. Despite what some reviewers have said I do not find this machine noisy at all. I fact I'd say it is very discrete on sound. The grinding action is not the slightest bit intrusive.
The pannarello steam wand is a doddle to use and it is dual function as a steam pipe, which makes it versatile. It is so good to see a double shot is exactly that .. one shot after the other not an extended purge of a slightly larger grind.
We have friends that only drink decaf so the option of using the little window on the top to put in a shot of pre-ground decaf is a very good idea indeed.
A couple of days later and we've had about 20 coffees and made some minor adjustments to temp, length and shot size and it's producing super coffee. The espresso's are fab.
I'd thoroughly recommend this if you like the simpler type of machine. It looks great and is simple to clean and maintain.
Excellent machine ... well done Gaggia!

Good coffee, but maintenance-heavy for the price

We’ve been using this machine for almost a year now. On average, we make about 5–6 coffees a day, so we wouldn’t consider ourselves heavy users. In our experience, it produces a good-quality coffee—I’d rate it 8/10. I especially like knowing that the beans are freshly ground right before brewing.

On the downside, the machine requires more maintenance than expected. We clean the brewing unit weekly, but the more thorough maintenance (lubricating, descaling, and degreasing) has to be done every two months instead of the recommended three. This process is quite time-consuming and meticulous.

Previously, I used the classic Gaggia Evo espresso machine. Next time, I’ll probably go back to that model paired with a decent coffee grinder.

Overall I would expect a higher-quality coffee experience in this price range (£600—we bought it during the Black Friday sale at 25% off).

Excellent service.

This purchase was made easy by your stephen who helped me greatly. The machine is a joy to use with the only problem being how not to drink too much coffee. At present I am using Taylors of Harrogate beans which are giving me a lovely mellow espresso and espresso lungo. Thank you for your excellent service.

Great machine

Our first Gaggia Anima expired after five and a half year’s service.
The replacement was £415 which was cheaper than the £499 we paid all those years ago.
A minor problem (the menu button said “steam” not “menu”) was resolved with a replacement machine.
A number of improvements have been made compared to our first machine - the grinder is quieter, the aroma lid and water lid have better designs, and it seems more efficient at milk frothing.
It is an easy machine to use and delivers great coffee

Well worth it for fantastic flat whites.

So easy to set up straight from the box. Produces fabulous espresso and fantastic flat whites. I feared it might be a costly mistake but absolutely not the case and well worth the cost.

Happy with Anima

Easy to set up and use after having a Gaggia Premier for 10 years which I found could be tricky to navigate. Makes lungo just right for me.
